What E5 adds to the enterprise suite

E5 brings additional security, compliance and analytics capabilities to the Microsoft 365 enterprise suite. Microsoft's current UK product page includes Entra ID P2, Defender for Endpoint P2, Defender for Office 365 P2 and Power BI Pro among its capabilities. Separate Teams, phone rights and calling charges

Microsoft lists E5 variants with and without Teams. Match the exact suite and any standalone Teams licence rather than assuming all E5 offers have the same collaboration rights. The current UK enterprise comparison shows both variants.

Teams Phone rights and a connection to the public telephone network are separate considerations. External calling needs a suitable PSTN arrangement, such as a Calling Plan or an eligible carrier route. Check Copilot and specialist licences separately

Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat and the Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on are different entitlements. Do not read a reference to included chat as a complete Copilot licence for work content and apps. Confirm the intended experience and exact offer using Microsoft's Copilot licensing guidance.

List any existing Copilot, Power BI or other specialist licences alongside E5. We retain unclear products as questions for the quote rather than assuming they can be removed. A lower invoice requires a valid change to purchased subscriptions, not merely an unassigned licence.

The most useful starting point is your exact products, quantities, Teams variants, current commitments and renewal dates. Add the services your IT team expects from the supplier and identify any optional changes.

Do we have to replace our existing IT provider?
