Microsoft 365 alternative

The GoDaddy Microsoft 365 Alternative for UK Businesses

Dead Simple 365 is a UK Microsoft 365 reseller that provisions licences into your own Microsoft tenant, so you can leave any time and keep everything. GoDaddy renews at £15.99 per user per month ex VAT in a tenant GoDaddy controls. Our Business Standard is £8.83 and Business Premium is £15.55 ex VAT, with no teaser price that jumps at renewal. A 25 seat business switching from GoDaddy saves £2,148 a year.

Operated by Dead Simple Computing Ltd, a UK Microsoft 365 reseller. We resell the same Microsoft 365 Business licences through Microsoft's official partner channel, into a tenant you own.

Why UK businesses leave GoDaddy Microsoft 365

Two things push businesses off GoDaddy: the renewal price and the locked tenant.

The renewal. GoDaddy renews Microsoft 365 Business Standard at around £15.99 per user per month ex VAT. That is above Microsoft's own list price and far above what the licence needs to cost. Most firms only notice when the card statement lands, often after an intro rate has expired.

The locked tenant. GoDaddy provisions your licences into a provider-managed tenant that GoDaddy holds. You do not get the full Microsoft 365 admin centre, and moving away means migrating out, not just switching billing. That friction is the point. It keeps you paying the renewal year after year.

If either of those describes you, you are the reason this page exists.

GoDaddy renewal versus Dead Simple 365: the price difference

Same Microsoft licences. Different price, with no teaser price that jumps at renewal.

Plan GoDaddy renewal Dead Simple 365 (annual upfront)
Business Standard ~£15.99 ex VAT £8.83 ex VAT
Business Premium not sold online £15.55 ex VAT

There is no intro rate that jumps. If Microsoft changes its list price we tell you before renewal and pass through the real change, and we stay below list before and after the 1 July 2026 rise.

Worked example, 25 seats on Business Standard:

  • GoDaddy: £15.99 x 25 x 12 = £4,797 a year
  • Dead Simple 365: £8.83 x 25 x 12 = £2,649 a year
  • You keep £2,148 a year

That saving is the same licences doing the same job, billed through Microsoft's official partner channel.

The real difference: who owns the tenant

This matters more than the headline price, because it decides whether you are ever stuck again.

A tenant is your own Microsoft 365 organisation account, where your users, mail, files and Teams live. GoDaddy puts you in a tenant GoDaddy owns and manages. Dead Simple 365 provisions licences into your own Microsoft tenant, the one with your name on it.

The practical effect: with us, we are only your billing relationship. If you ever want to leave, you change who sells you the licences and keep everything in place. With a provider-managed tenant, leaving means a migration first.

We think a reseller should earn your renewal on price and service, not hold your data hostage. So we built it the other way round.

What transfers when you switch from GoDaddy

For most switchers this is the part that feels risky and turns out to be the least dramatic.

If you already control your own Microsoft tenant, switching is a billing change. Your mail, files, Teams and accounts stay exactly where they are. Licences attach to the tenant you already have. Nothing moves.

GoDaddy customers are usually in a provider-managed tenant, so there is a real move involved: a migration into a tenant you own. We offer paid guided migration for this so it is done in a controlled, planned way rather than over a weekend with crossed fingers. We tell you upfront which situation you are in, normally during a free licence audit.

What we will not do is pretend a provider-managed exit is one click. It is not. It is a manageable project with a clear path, and we walk it with you.

Who should switch, and who should stay

Honest version, because you will check anyway.

Switch to Dead Simple 365 if you:

  • Are a UK business paying GoDaddy's renewal and want the same licences for less
  • Want your own Microsoft tenant so you are never locked in again
  • Want Business Premium for security (Defender for Business, Intune, conditional access), which GoDaddy does not sell online
  • Are happy buying and managing online with UK support when you need it

Stay on GoDaddy (for now) if you:

  • Bundle Microsoft 365 with a GoDaddy website, hosting and domain you are not ready to untangle
  • Need a single throat to choke for everything in one place and accept the renewal premium for it
  • Are mid-term and the prorated maths does not favour moving yet

One plain-English note on Microsoft's rules. Microsoft's New Commerce Experience (NCE) rules apply to every reseller, us included. You can reduce seat counts only inside the first 7 days of a term or at renewal, not mid-term. Adding seats and upgrading plans works any time. We state this before you buy rather than after.

Common questions.

How much does GoDaddy Microsoft 365 cost at renewal?

GoDaddy renews Microsoft 365 Business Standard at around £15.99 per user per month ex VAT, above Microsoft's own list price. Many businesses only notice once an intro rate expires. Dead Simple 365 sells the same plan at £8.83 ex VAT annual upfront, with no teaser price that jumps at renewal.

Can I leave GoDaddy and keep my email and files?

Yes. If you control your own Microsoft tenant, switching is a billing change and your mail, files and Teams stay in place. GoDaddy customers are usually in a provider-managed tenant, which needs a planned migration into a tenant you own. We offer paid guided migration so it is done in a controlled way.

What is a provider-managed tenant and why does it matter?

A provider-managed tenant is a Microsoft 365 organisation account that your reseller holds and controls, rather than you. GoDaddy uses this model, which makes leaving harder because you must migrate out first. Dead Simple 365 provisions into your own tenant, so you can change supplier and keep everything where it is.

Does GoDaddy sell Microsoft 365 Business Premium?

GoDaddy does not sell Business Premium through online checkout. Dead Simple 365 sells it at £15.55 per user per month ex VAT, our hero plan. Business Premium includes security tooling small firms increasingly need: Defender for Business, Intune device management and conditional access.

What if I need fewer seats after I switch?

Microsoft's NCE rules apply to every reseller, including us. You can decrease seats only within the first 7 days of a term or at renewal, not mid-term. Adding seats and upgrading plans works at any time. We state this before you buy so there are no surprises later.

Is Dead Simple 365 a legitimate company?

Yes. Dead Simple 365 is operated by Dead Simple Computing Ltd, a UK company registered at Companies House, transacting as a Microsoft indirect reseller through Giacom. We sell to UK businesses only, verified at checkout, with prices shown ex VAT and VAT stated clearly.
